The Layout guide for vehicles is a style guide on how to write an article where the subject is a vehicle, craft or ship. That is, ground vehicles, small flying machines and large space or water vessels. It is primarily aimed at military, however may be adapted to suit civilian.

Sexctions marked in italics are the recommended sections. Do not include a section for any infobox, not under the title infobox nor divisions.

Infobox[]

The infoboxes to be used in craft, vehicles and vessels are {{Craft infobox}}, {{Vehicle infobox}} and {{Ship infobox}}, respectively. Do not use more than one infobox per page.

See also: WW:LAYOUT and WW:STYLE's section on introduction

The lead, or introductory section (the part after the infobox and before official sections) should contain, as per usual, very general information. This includes paragraphs preferebly set in the following order:

  • The name, what it is (vehicle, craft, vessel), its role, what military it is for, who designed it, who manufactured it, the operators (preferably in terms of civilizations).
  • Development - details on its developement, such as why it was required, as well as any upgrades or new models past, present and future.
  • Design - details on its components, features, abilities, roles, etc.
  • Operational history - details on where it has been used, how it performed, any prominently skilled users, and so on.

It is advised that each of the above items in the list warrant a paragraph each.
