Plekon-class Heavy Carrier rough sketch1

A rough sketch of the Plekon-class Heavy Carrier

The Plekon-Class Heavy Carrier is a multi-roled carrier designed for... carrying... It has capable hyperspace travel so is good for carrying frigates, and has alot of room for an invasion.

Ship ListEdit

  • The Firth on 2010/02/14, 11:42am GMT (Colonel Xraphiza)
  • The Fanexts on 2010/02/24, 09:23pm GMT (Colonel Catilus)

Physically, the Plekon-class was very circular with few corners in certain areas. The back of the ship curved around, until it met the central part of the stern. The huge circular Engines were fitted in a massive rectangular indent on the ship, plowing across the back of it, but leaving lots of room above and below them. The back part of the ship begins to slowly curve inwards untill it gets to 150 meters in width, and then from the middle of the ship and forwards, 2 massive docking hooks dominated each side of the forward part of the ship, designed to look like robotic hands, while 2 small (in comparison) rectangular flat-based docking magnetizers helped hold it. The two magnetizers would hold the Frigate's forward part to the ship, while the clamps would grapple around the back part.

The ship's main purpose was to combat smaller ships than itself.

2 Twin Photon Cannons sit on the forward part of the ship, one on the bottom and one on the top. From a side view, they sit between the Docking Clamps and the magnetizers, able to fire forward and to the sides. The other two cannons sat on the each side of the backward part of the ship. They were able to fire around in their 360 degree radius, but couldn't fire on a target that sat just above the ship due to it's hull obstructing it. The Light Photon Cannons. 4 of them sat on the front part of the ship, right at it's point. One on each side, 1 on the top and 1 on the bottom. In order for defense just above and just below the ship, 2 cannons sit above and below the backward part of the ship and have a wide firing radius. 4 light cannons are also placed on the huge engine, one below and one above each one, their job is to defend the stern of the ship and they usually fire volleys of lasers at enemy Craft. 1 light is placed upon the two cannons on the forward part of the ship, their job is to lay down suppressive fire in order to clear a way for the cannons to shoot down bigger ships. The last, and final cannon sits directly above the bridge, incase anything tries to kamikaze into the bridge, the cannon will fend them off. I hope I've covered all of the cannnon placements.
